I was certain that with the onslaught of the colder weather that we would finally be rid of the black and red bugs that invaded our office this fall but it seems as though a new batch has hatched. And they're back with a vengence.
I've had at least two or three of the little buggars on my desk this week. They're into flying more this time and dive bombing you when you least expect it. Yesterday I went to the printer and there was a couple of the bugs on it. Just as the rollers started feeding the report that I was printing through, one of the bugs ventured into the inside of the printer. I have to wonder if he got crushed or set up home in there because I never saw him come back out.
They seem to be dying more easily and more quicky this time. Its like a battlefield on top of a couple of filing cabinets. You can usually see several strewn across the top of them, belly up.
One of my co-workers is convinced this new strain of these bugs are canibalistic as well. She called me over to the filing cabinet yesterday where some of the belly up dead one's were and it appeared that the live ones were actually eating some of the dead ones.
There was a big green plant on top of this filing cabinet as well. There seemed to be several in the plant well. April said that she was convince that the plant was attracting them so I said lets move the plant around and see if they move too. We laughed but April actually moved the plant. As turns out there were none where the plant was placed today.
I'm was wondering if they were going to have to have the exterminators come out again and spray until I heard this swatting sound late this afternoon. April was walking around swatting and killing the bugs. Who needs to hire an exterminator...we've got April!
I guess I should be glad that no more snakes have been found!
